WE ARE MISSING THE POINT.

It is rather confusing how prosperity is being preached in churches of today. Apparently, a lot of churches are started on daily basis on the bedrock of favors, wealth and constant progress, people believe that once everything moves fine with you, it is with no doubt some sort of proof that God is with you then why then did God say that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven?.
A group of people walked up to me one day during my time at akwaibom state demanding that i start  worshiping  with them (haha), i told them that i was satisfied with my place of worship and had no intentions of changing, all the points they gave to convince me was based on wealth, miracles and the likes, of course that was before i dismissed them.
let us understand something,God is not a magician and there is a clear distinction between magic and miracles with great respect to purpose for the later. people demand signs and wonders;they want things appearing and vanishing;instant changing of conditions, you name it.
miracles depends on purpose, need, faith and good works
what am i saying?
maybe we are forgetting or missing the point, prosperity is good but that is not all there is to life, its not even up to 30%.
the wealthiest king in the bible was king Solomon whom as we know was also the wisest and when we read Ecclesiastes 1:2-11 a book written by king Solomon in his old age,we see how he makes little or nothing of all the riches he had.
also, in the new testament , Jesus gave an instruction that those willing to be saved should carry their cross and follow him hence their is no crown without the cross and we all know what the cross signifies, why then do we think that we are supposed to live a problem free life?
All the apostles of Christ when we read their history died of persecution(they were martyred),they never had it easy, they embraced suffering, trials and persecution and with the help of God overcame them all knowing that it was a pathway to eternal peace.

all i am saying here is we should beware of what we get into in the name of pursuing prosperity and progress. we should look beyond earthly riches having in mind that whatever we temporarily have now or wherever we temporarily find ourselves now should be used to serve God.

We complain about the cross we bear but don't realize it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we cannot.

Whatever your cross,
whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine, after the rain....
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall;
But God's always ready, to answer your call....
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
a word from His lips, can calm every fear...
Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, by dawn's early light...
The Savior is waiting, somewhere above,
to give you His grace, and send you His love.
May God fill your day with blessings!!!

Thank you.
