DRIFT PERSUASION

Paul once expressed his fear for the Corinthians not drifting away from the right thing. Experience and the evidence provided by the scriptures must have been the reason why he expressed such fear. With all the beautiful things in the Garden of Eden, with only one temptation to overcome, how eve still allowed the devil to deceive her is a reason to fear. There were other people that lost the glory of God and followed the devil in the bible. Does it not surprise you that some people known to be doing very well would drift away from the right after some time? Does it not stun you that a prayer warrior can become completely prayerless? That a child of God can eventually become an apostle of darkness is something that weakens the mind. When people who condemned evil are the ones doing it, then it is a reason to tremble. Why would some Christians deviate from doing the wrong things? That devil is still alive today and around everyone. The devil that wants you to fall is close to you, whispering some dirty things into your ears, prompting you to take some wrong steps, encouraging you that it is not wrong to fall once in a while, and showing you why you should believe that it doesn’t matter. Will you accept the devil’s promptings? Will you fall to the temptations of the devil? Are you sure you will not do what you are condemning now? Are you sure you will not be deceived? It is not enough to say you will not fall or be deceived. St Paul says, “let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall” (1cor 10:12). It is not by your power that you remain steadfast. It is the grace of God. This is the reason you should not fail to pray for the grace of sustenance.
